2008 Yr 6 Student At High School

I am I am so looking forward to high school. I want to have fun and work hard. I want it to     to be different from Primary school. Our teachers will be different; our classroom will bebbbe different as well. I will be able to meet new people as well. It will be fun to try new thing thing. At that time l will be more responsible and sensitive. There will be different subjects.

I think things are going to be a bit hard for me because l don’t have a brother or a sister who who has been to high school before so l won’t have any idea about anything. l don’t know what I will do at lunch times. Knowing  the teachers names will be hard and finding my way around will be hard as well, but l think l will get used to it.

Blogging

Well I must say that setting up a blog site (if that’s what you call them!) wasn’t too difficult.  Perhaps our time frame has caused a bit of stress( put on by us),  but really edublog has been simple, easy and very teacher friendly.  I know there is a lot to learn, but I feel confident this is a place I can succeed.  I didn’t realise how much I rely on instant communication.  Blogging can be a waiting process, but responses is very satisfying because it is from people you may not know, where as texts, emails and phones are generally contacts you have met or are familiar with.  Eg:  To see a comment from Bruce Armstrong on my blog was fabulous because I thought someone I don’t know wants to comment on my thoughts.  That’s where I think it will be brilliant for the kids.

No peers, teachers or family responding, but people they no nothing about wants to say something about their writing.  What a wonderful learning tool!!!!!!

Can’t wait to try it tomorrow.

Does it matter?

Of course it matters! If your here something matters.  So what is it?  Yes your right the kids matter.  They are why you are on the computer trying  to find something that will push them further.  That  may be hard, but not really it is easy.  They just want to be engaged.  They need purpose.  They need guidance.  They need to know someone cares.  They need interaction, in fact they need us!!!!! Lucky aren’t we?  What other job description says that we are the most important impression on their lives?  What an important job we have.  Let’s work together to get it right.

Step forward

Okay, so where do we go from here?  I only have 1 question.  Am I the only one in this situation?  This is the problem with blogging, I have no instant gratification,  I am starting to think no one is listening/reading.  I know it is late, but the trouble is that I need feedback now, not tomorrow.  How can we fix that?  Something to ponder and ask our students to solve.

Need to Write

We are who we are because::::

We are special

We make a difference and we care

We see a picture (maybe not the big one yet: we start small)

We have passion!  Yeh I know everyone says that, but we really do.

We are calm and thoughtful individuals

“”"”Kids definitely matter”"”"”

“”"”Oh Yeh, we matter too”"”"

We can make a difference.  Yes we all can.

And if you are reading this you already want to make a difference!
